Wichita Riding Academy is located in Derby, Kansas. Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and experienced Equestrian Coach to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for instructing riders of various skill levels, ensuring safety, and fostering a positive learning environment. This role requires a strong background in sports coaching, teaching, and working with students, with a particular emphasis on equestrian activities. The Equestrian Coach will play a vital role in developing riders’ skills while promoting the safety and enjoyment of horseback riding. Responsibilities
• Conduct riding lessons for individuals and groups, tailoring instruction to skill levels and goals
• Ensure the safety of all participants by enforcing safety protocols and proper riding techniques
• Develop lesson plans that incorporate riding skills, behavior management, and sportsmanship
• Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the riding arena and equipment
• Provide guidance on horse care and management as part of comprehensive rider education
• Monitor rider progress and provide constructive feedback to improve skills
• Foster a positive, encouraging environment that promotes confidence and respect among students
• Collaborate with other staff members to organize riding events, competitions, or clinics Requirements
• Proven experience in teaching or childcare settings
• Strong knowledge of behavior management techniques and experience working with students of diverse ages
• Ability to teach physical education concepts effectively in an outdoor or indoor setting
• Experience working with children and understanding their developmental needs
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate students of all levels
• Certification or experience in equestrian activities; willingness to learn is essential
Ability to maintain a safe environment and respond calmly in emergencies
