Job Description:

RRA needs a summer camp coordinator and assistant instructor.  Start date June 1, 2026

RRA offers six summer day camp sessions in 2026.
Children arrive at the farm for the morning session at 9:00am and stay till 12:00pm OR the afternoon session from 1:30-4:30pm. Camp starts on Monday and ends on Friday and participants come every day. Our day camps are open to kids of all levels of experience and from ages 8 through 13. Sessions are limited to 20 participants and each has a qualified helper at all times in addition to the instructor. The session is divided into riding and educational group activities. 

Camp Coordinator works with parents, oversees planned activities, handles staffing and horse assignments, runs camp efficiently.

Skills Needed

  • Excellent teaching and horsemanship skills that demonstrate a high level of creativity, compassion and competence when providing safe effective Equine Assisted Activities 
  • Strong risk management skills that keep clients, equines, and staff members safe. 
  • Strong decision making abilities and high attention to detail.
  • Dependable and capable of working with minimum supervision in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to collaborate with a team with diverse backgrounds and skill sets.
  • Ability to prioritize, problem solve, and manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to communicate with families, students, staff, and volunteers in a professional courteous manner regarding lessons, problems, solutions and schedules. 

Qualifications

  • Riding Instructor with a certification from CHA, ARIA, USDF, USHJA, United States Pony Club
  • 2 yrs working as a trainer/riding instructor at a reputable barn or facility 
  • Ability to effectively and safely organize and run group lessons
  • Familiarity with Horse Sense Learning curriculum
  • CPR and First Aid certified
  • Passes the RRA riding/teaching evaluation via video submission

Salary & Benefits

$17-$24/hour based on certification level and experience
