Healing with Horses Ranch is a 501(c)(3) non-profit therapeutic riding center. By creating space for healthy relationships between horses and humans, we help students learn transferable life skills in a safe, inclusive environment. We strive to promote resilience and independence in mind, body, and soul through the power of the horse.
Description
Healing with Horses Ranch seeks a Therapeutic Riding Instructor, to assist in providing safe and effective Adaptive Horseback Riding and Therapeutic Equine Assisted Activities for individuals with disabilities, at-risk youth, and Veterans.

Please Note: This opening requires the applicant be available at least one of the following shifts:
- Monday – Thursday, 4pm -6pm
- Saturday 9am -2pm, or 4pm – 8pm
- Sunday 9am -2pm
Additional hours are welcome.
Skills Needed
- Excellent teaching and horsemanship skills that demonstrate a high level of creativity, compassion and competence when providing safe effectiveEquine Assisted Activities and Therapies (EAAT)
- Strong risk management skills that keep clients, equines, and staff members safe.
- Strong decision making abilities and high attention to detail.
- Dependable and capable of working with minimum supervision in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to collaborate with a team with diverse backgrounds and skill sets.
- Ability to prioritize, problem solve, and manage multiple projects.
- Strong understanding of PATH Intl standards.
- Ability to communicate with families, students, staff, and volunteers in a professional courteous manner regarding lessons, problems, solutions and schedules.
- Ability to evaluate horses for therapeutic riding programs through a knowledge of principles of therapeutic riding, equine movement and equine psychology.
Qualifications
- PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor, and/or Adv. PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor, and/or Master PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic: OR
- Riding Instructor with a certification from CHA, ARIA, USDF, USHJA,United States Pony Club, or equivalent certifier and the ability to become PATH Intl. Certified within six months of employment; OR
- Over 2000+ hours working as a trainer/riding instructor at a reputable barn or facility and the ability to become PATH Intl. Certified within six months of employment
- CPR and First Aid certified
- Completion of all Healing with Horses Volunteer Trainings
- Passes the Healing with Horses Ranch Advanced Conditioning Team Riding evaluation
Salary & Benefits
$17-$24/hour based on PATH certification level and experience
