Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY
The Equestrian Program Manager is responsible for the delivery of a horseback riding program that is safe, fun, and appropriate for all participants. The manager also assists the site manager in the physical operations of the Camp Liberty Equestrian Center.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of a safe, educational and fun horseback riding program.
2. Administer the program in accordance with safety and risk management guidelines of GSUSA, ACA, Certified Horsemanship Association standards and relevant government agencies.
3. Function as an active member of the Property and Outdoor Experience team.
4. Develop and implement an evaluation system for participants.
5. Cultivates and engages community support and partnerships to support funding, volunteers, and implementation of equestrian programs.
6. Plan and implement volunteer training for Equestrian Center volunteers.
7. Observe volunteer performance and provide informal feedback on a regular basis.
8. Complete written evaluation on equestrian staff and provide formal feedback.
9. Assist in the feeding, care and management of the horses, facilities and equipment used for the equestrian program.
10. Assist in the preparation and evaluation of new horses in accordance with CHA, ACA, GSUSA and GSEIWI standards.
11. Maintain excellent communication with staff, participants, volunteers and parents.
12. Serve as role model and guide participants in appropriate behavior, language and attitude.
13. Maintain a high level of energy, enthusiasm and motivation.
14. Responsible for achieving community engagement and development goals to recruit members, volunteers, and cultivate support for Girl Scouts.
15. Collaborate with Marketing to ensure Council Wide Marketing Strategies of Outdoor programs, Summer Resident camp and council day camps.
16. Works with cross-functional teams to develop innovative techniques to ensure on going effective delivery of the recruitment and volunteer support strategies.
17. Ensures Girl Scouting is open to all girls and adults by delivering the Girl Scouts message of pluralism and diversity to members of the council.
18. Promotes and assists with Council wide programs, activities, public relations and fund development endeavors.
19. Performs other duties as assigned
