Job Description:

Calleva is a non-profit organization with a extensive summer camp program which included horseback riding! Soft skills in an instructor at Calleva are just as important as hard skills in the saddle. Children ages 9 to 15 attend camp. We welcome riders of all levels with an emphasis on beginners. We have 30 riders each week that our separated into 3 groups based on level and age. Work day is approx. 8am to 5pm with one day per week (Thursday) on an overnight at our farm. Duties as an insructor include (but are not limited to):

Lesson planning

Itinerary planning for a 5 day program (with one overnight on Thursdays)

Traditional groups lesson (60min twice daily)

Unmounted lessons about horsemanship, horse related topics, grooming and tacking

Overseeing general care for 5 horses

Help with caretaking (feeding, mucking etc)

5 days per week for 9 weeks from June to August
