Wrangler

YMCA Camp Classen is a 2100+ acre camp located in the Arbuckles just outside of Davis Oklahoma. Camp Classen is now interviewing qualified people for our Spring and Fall Equine wranglers as well as summer and weekend wranglers. Staff will assist the Equestrian Director in the daily care of 30+ horses, ranch work.  Primarily wranglers will be leading our weekend groups and outdoor school groups on trail rides but will help out in other areas of camp as needed. Interns will be paid a stipend of $50 per day and will work at least 5 days per week on average.  Depending on group contracts, an additional 1 or 2 days of work may be available. Candidates should be able to groom, saddle, bridle, and ride horses efficiently. In addition to the established stipend the following are provided: housing with all utilities paid, Wi-Fi after office hours in Griffith Lodge and meals anytime groups are on grounds (about 80% of all meals are available in the dining hall).  There are laundry facilities in or near staff housing on camp.  Staff will also be provided with a microwave and have access to a refrigerator, stove and oven.  Candidates should contact Russell at rgholson@ymcaokc.org
